I love Skippack spring. It is a season of new beginnings and new possibilities. I shed the sluggishness of winter. The weather and longer days prod me outdoors. I grab my Sony Cyber-shot and off I go.
Time to explore something new, start over, forget the mistakes of the past, and...

There are two different ways to enjoy summer in Skippack Village, each is symbolic of a different approach to life itself.
The Roar of the Crowd
The town offers up its big events. Just follow the crowd.
Fourth of July Memories
The Fourth of July, already now a memory, brought cheering masses to our main street, Skippack Pike. People lined up to see born-to-be-wild motorcyclists, classic cars, flamboyant mummers, brave firefighters, marching musicians called Reilly Raiders, civic-minded business owners in clever floats, water-blasting deck washers and more – all proceeding down Skippack Pike to enthusiastic applause. One of the great things about being the Skippack Blogger is you get to meet great people, for example, Al Angello, the comic juggler magician. I have seen Al perform during Skippack Days and he also shows up at the Farmer's Market of Skippack every third Sunday of the month, juggling golden pins with the greatest of ease. I know not what to praise more, his light-hearted magic and juggling or his gentlemanly demeanor.
This past Sunday at the Farmer's Market of Skippack, I learned I have something in common with Al. We both found soul mates late in life. I met my wife Debby in my mid-forties and Al was when you met his partner Bonnie Alderfer, who has worked 48 years at the Skippack pharmacy.
Love in the twilight of a man's life. It makes me think that happiness is like the disappearing rabbit in the famous magic trick. At times during our life we may not be able see happiness, or even perceive the possibility the happiness, but it is always there. One day, a magician like Al Angello will pull it out of a hat.
Back in 2013: A high-energy, fun-filled farmer’s market is coming back to Skippack under new management, with a new location on Skippack Pike/Route 73 across from the WaWa as you approach Bridge Road/Route 113 heading west. The Farmer’s Market of Skippack will be open every Sunday thru the summer, beginning around 9 am and staying open until 1 pm.
Local Goods, Entertainment and More!
The Skippack Blogger had the joy and pleasure of visiting the new, revitalized Skippack Farmers Market. I love it.
A farmer’s market removes the middle man who stands between the creator of goods and the consumer. We can buy...
Friends, fellow Skippack residents, citizens of the global Internet — lend me your eyeballs. I won the vote for the Most Happening Blogger of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. This is my acceptance speech...
I arrived at the Skippack Fire Company with a question I have wanted to ask for more than two decades. When I first moved to Montgomery County, PA, more than twenty years ago, I came close, too close...
