Michael Shaw is the writer and editor of the I Love Skippack blog.
He is also the chief bottle washer and head of building maintenance for the I love Skippack blog.
Michael has worked as a writer and editor for magazines, newspapers, a book publisher and also as a website editor for a health insurance company. He currently is a writer, editor and website content manager for the Apollo Research Institute. He also edits and maintains the website for his housing development, Biltmore Estates in Skippack.
Michael’s greatest accomplishment occurred in 2006, the year he married Debby Fradkin. Both Michael and Debby owned town homes in different Montgomery County, PA neighborhoods (North Wales and Horsham). Now faced with the challenge of combining households, they could not find a location that seemed right for building their lives together; no place seemed special enough for a second chance at life.
That is, until they discovered the beautiful and unusual Village of Skippack. In 2008, Michael and Debby bought a house in a new development in the heart of the village.
Michael now spends many wonderful afternoons and evenings walking the sidewalk through town and stopping to talk to shop and restaurant owners and workers. He have come to know many wonderful people: Musicians, homebuilders, shopkeepers, local politicians, bartenders, bar patrons, artists, actors, and craftspeople as well as helpful neighbors who also make this town their home.
Here is how Michael describes his blog:
My blog is my attempt to give something back to the town. I seek to capture and describe everyday life here; support the people who make Skippack special, especially the entrepreneurs; and discover what one town, charming and enchanted but not without its struggles, can teach the world.
